Sup 720 failover

Hi,

We have installed 2 SUP 720 into 6509 switch and would like to change default failover time to reduce delay.What is the config we need on sup 720?

Hi,

In general Sup 720s can be used in two modes:

1. SSO

2. RPR

1. In SSO mode the L-2 traffic is never interrupted even if the active Sup fails, however if you want the L-3 traffic also to flow un interrupted, then one must enable NSF along with the SSO

2. RPR, all the traffic will get dropped and then with in a minute's time the Stdby Sup becomes active and all the ACL are reprogrammed.
