Sup720 Switching Engine 3A, 3B or 3BXL

Hi,

I need some advise on These models of sup720. We have a 6513 with a single sup720 with PFC3A switching engine. We are planning to buy another sup for redundancy. The seller gave us a quote for sup720 with PFC3B.

Would this work? Two sup720 on the same box in redundant configuration, one with PFC3A the other with PFC3B.

Btw, what's the difference between these models of switching engines?

Your redundant sup engines has to be the same hardware. This config can work but the PFC3B will operate as PFC3A on the box.

These three models have the different hardware resources for different features. For example PFC-3B and 3BXL both supports MPLS but 3BXL supports upto 1,000,000 routes per system.
