Supporting undocumented/hidden commands

Does Cisco have an official position regarding support of undocumented commands in IOS?

example:
bgp bestpath as-path multipath-relax

It's a hidden command but works great when I lab stuff up. I've never used hidden/undocumented commands in production. However, if I did, are they actually supported?

I am pretty sure that if a command is hidden and not documented that it is not supported.

They frequently are helpful but you use them at your own risk.
