T1 and PIX config

We are in the procoess of ordering a T1 and I need to make sure we have the appropriate hardware. I'm putting a PIX between us and the Internet, but I can't plug the T1 directly into a PIX ethernet interface can I? Will I need a router with a Wan Interface Card between the Internet and my PIX? Are there any other hardware configurations that might work here?

Thank you,

Bill

Re: T1 and PIX config

You need a router with an internal CSU/DSU for this T1 connection.

The router will turn connect to the PIX via the LAN interface.

Ideally, you may want to connect the LAN interface from the WAN Router to a switch and connect the PIX to this same switch sharing the same VLAN. With this network config, you can troubleshoot internet issues while bypassing the PIX without disruption of services or changes in the FW by placing a workstation on that switch VLAN when needed.
