T1 config is the same. For most uses, the voice features will be the same.

It can be done, for data calls only.
Or keep a single box (28xx), less administrative work.

does 1800/2800 support voice calls?

For voice calls, the 1861 and the 28xx do support that with VWICx-xx-xxx.
For modem calls, you need a 2811 as minimum, with HWIC-1CE1T1-PRI and PVDM2-xxDM.

Hi,
one more question, is the config of 2861's T1 pri the same as 5300's T1 pri config? which voice feature(s) 2861 does not support?
