In Cisco IOS, there is extended ping where you can ping from a source.
Is there an equalivalent using telnet?

just try to use "telnet x.x.x.x /source-interface Y"

Konstantin has given a good suggestion if you want to supply the source address in the command line. There is also an option that you may consider to specify the source address for telnet using the config command:
ip telnet source-interface

You can also specify the port...
telnet x.x.x.x 21 /source-interface f0/0
