Temporary enabling BFD on one side only .. will it hurt?

All,

I need to configure BFD for a WAN link and enable it under the BGP as well both on CE and PE routers.

Due to different teams managing either side of the WAN link, the change on one side (PE) will take place first while the change on other side (CE) can be coordinated in a controlled environment along with some testing.

Since the site is a critical data center, the question is that if BFD is only enabled on one end (and not on other) can it potentially cause any problem?

Thank you,

Nadeem

BFD has to at least establish the neighborship once, negotiate the timers etc. only after that it will begin the operation of fault detection. So you can configure it on one side without any concern.
