I do not know that I have seen that message. Do I understand that you were copying an IOS image file to the laptop which is running tftp32d? What was the source of the copy? What command did you use to initiate the copy?

TFTP does use the mechanism of send a block of data and wait for an acknowledgement of the block. The error message indicates that it timed out waiting for an ACK. I would have expected this error on the source machine rather than on the destination machine.

Not sure haven't come across that before.

Can you ping from router to laptop and vice-versa?

Have you got any type of firewall on laptop which could be preventing something.

It sounds like the other end isn't acknowledging what is being sent for some reason.

Found this chapter on the web it goes in tftp in a bit more detail.

Hope this helps

Just looking for a laptop tftp client/server, instead of using xmodem.

With tftpd32.exe, I've now tried laptop-to-laptop transfer and still getting same error message, so it's not the router.

Still testing...

Thanks for the help everyone.

Try this TFTP server:

http://support.3com.com/software/utilities_for_windows_32_bit.htm

This TFTP server should allow you to transfer over 32Mbytes.

Note that you might still the limitation on the IOS as well if you are not running an image integrating CSCee67733.

Hope this helps,

You need an image that integrates CSCee67733 to transfer an image larger than 32MB using TFTP.

The workaround is to use FTP to transfer the image.

Just to eliminate any simple issues as well, you don't have a firewall running do you?
