I put the wrong ASA image on my ASA5505 router (asa811-smp-k8.bin) and now the ASA55050 will not boot. It just keeps rebooting with the following error message “This SMP image cannot run on a ASA5505 system.”.
How do I put a valid SMP image back on the appliance with the CLI?
I can push Esc while it is booting and get to the command prompt with limited commands listed below.

I have not run into this issue on an ASA and so can not speak from direct experience. But based on the commands that you show as available I believe that your solution will be to use the tftpdnld command to put a correct image on the ASA.
As is suggested by its name tftpdnld uses TFTP to download an image and is typically used to recover when a device has a corrupted image or an incorrect image (as apparently is your case). You will probably need to use the set command to set various variables (especially including the server address of a TFTP server which has the correct image in its TFTP directory, the image name, and the gateway - used if the server is not on the local subnet with the ASA).
Give it a try and let us know how it works.
