track ip or rtr?

Hi,

"track .. ip route" is used to track the state of an IP route specifically.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_3/ipaddr/command/reference/ip1_t1g.html#wp1078859

"track rtr" is for checking/tracking the state using a Cisco IOS IP SLAs operation.RTR is actually an old name of IP SLA and you can use it to test/monitor a number of path parameters, such as delay or jitter.

See this giude on more details of RTR and its configuration:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_3/12_3x/12_3xe/feature/guide/dbackupx.html

Kind Regards,
Ivan
