Hello, I have a cisco 2811 with a IOS Version 12.4(15)T.
I want implement this line in my configuration :
track 1 rtr reachability
But the rtr command is unrecognized. With this link, rtr is recognized... I don't understand.. Have you a solution ?
Solved! Go to Solution.
I believe that you are missing a parameter in your command. I checked on a router running 12.4(15)T and if I entered:
track 1 rtr 1 reachability
it was accepted just fine. On line help indicates that the parameter that you missed is an entry number.
I have tested. It don't recognized rtr.
It don't know what is it.
It have some versions of 12.4(15)T.
I must have a specific parameter for the recognition of this command by the IOS?
I don't understand...
I tested on a router running 12.4(15)T as you said. When I entered the command as you posted it I got an error. When I entered the command with the additional parameter that I told you about then the command was accepted.
I believe that the suggestion from Edison is an excellent suggestion. Work your way through the command using on line help and post the results. That will give us a clear view of what is happening.
Thanks for your help.
When I type track ?
I have :
"<1-500>" Tracked object
"resolution" Tracking resolution parameters
"timer" Polling interval timers
When I type track 1 ?
I have :
"interface" Select an interface to track
"ip" IP protocol
"list" Group objects in a list
"stub-object" Stub tracking object
Why haven't I rtr ?
Thank you for your help.

Edison's suggestion was very helpful. Your post of the online help going through the track command does show that your version does not support the rtr feature. Yet a router that I tested running 12.4(15)T did support it. The difference appears to be that the router that I was running on had the Advanced Security feature set wehre you have the IP Base feature set. Apparently it is a feature set difference.
