Traffic Shaping when QoS/CoS employed

I have a client who has Cisco 3800 series routers in their data centre with which they have QoS/CoS policies implemented. They wish to further manage traffic by limiting outbound traffic to their branch sites in line with the network access bandwidth each site has available. Is this possible whilst leaving the QoS policies in place? If so how?

Hi  Craig,

Yes it is possible.

Let say, your client has got following config

class-map

match

policy-map

class

etc..

etc..

and this policy would be on some interface.

So all you need to do is make another or if it matches same marking as of existing class-map use it.

so your new policy-map should look something like below:

policy-map

class

etc

etc

class
