typical problem with ISDN

hi

i am facing typical problem with ISDN connectivity my remote location (1751) is having ISDN BRI connectivity and this location is dialing on my center location router(7513) which is having PRI, the connection is established my remote location is able to access the application server.

but problem is that i am not able to ping this remote location when i am pinging it through central location router but i am able to ping when i am pinging it through command prompt

remote users are not facing any problem they are accessing the servers

so what could be the problem any idea.

Thanks

AK

Re: typical problem with ISDN

Hi!

Can u post the configs of both the routers?

This problem may arise b'coz of Time To Live of packets.

When u ping the remote side, there is time-out(for eg.in cisco is 2ms)for each packet after which the router will send another packet. If the packet dosn't come back in stipulated time,it will show time-out.

In PC this time is much greater then router, hence u will get the reply.

You may check my theory by freeing up the link, that is disconnecting the users and letting the link free, then pinging, you must get the reply.

Pls let me know am I right?

Regards,

JD
