I wish to get some validation of the design. I have two(2)10K's routers and two(2)6500's switch(layer 2 only). The switches have more than 110 VLANS split odds switch 01(pri) and evens switch 02(pri).The evens VLANS are given a lower priority on switch 01 and odd VLANS are given a lower priority on switch 02 10K's running HSRP.My question is if either switch completely failed.How long will it take for traffic to resume as normal?
I never tried so many VLANs and enabled w/ HSRP. So can't tell the resume. However, if one of the switch is down, it depends on many factors for the resume time , e.g. spanning tree, routing update, and you can fine tune the hello and hold time in HSRP to speed up the fall-over.
I believe only carry a lab test can tell the actual result. Or any Netpro experienced similar situation then tell the result.

P.S. I just realized that if two 6500 are L2 only, is the 10K router carry the HSRP and virtual IP to the user ? If yes, there will be no routing issue but only how fast of the HSRP fall-over at router. Please advise.
