VirtualTemplate palaver

Hello All,

I created two V-templs on R1 pointing to R3 and R4 as shown here:

R1

interface Virtual-Template13

interface Virtual-Template14

R3

interface Virtual-Template31

R4

interface Virtual-Template41

And as a result of this, two virtual-Access was cteated on R1 as one would expect in the "sh ip int brief" and were in the up states BUT the virtual-template itselves remained in the down state.

Because of this the desired results could not be achieved, how then can i bring these virtual-template interfaces to up up states?

Thanking you all in advance

The virtual-templates will always show down/down because they are just templates.

Virtual-Access should show up/up.

Hello,

Thanks for your response to my query.

The virtual-Access is actually in up/up states, But if that is what is expected how come my desired result could not be achieved?.

The intention was to send a summary routes and a specific route ro R3 while R4 should receive only the summary routes.

can you help further please?

Thank you
