vpn on 4700 and 2800

Hi,

I have some 4700 routers and 2800 routers. the performance of 4700 is better than 2800. I configure some VPN channels on 4700. I find that the CPU loading of 4700 is near to 100% when the VPN consumes 2M - 3M traffic.

In 2800, it does not have this issue.

Why? is it 4700 is too old (hardware) to handle the new feature?

I am not sure. 2800 router having hardware VPN Modules so crypto engine is not taking that much CPU utilization. But the 4700 is processing software crypto accelerator engine. Check the IOS to fix this issue.
