The WAN uses DDN connection from the branch office to the internet service provider then go through Satellite to the head office which is located at another country. The router at the branch office display error on the serial interface

“ 31067 input errors, 19048 CRC, 9259 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored, 2760 abort”

What could be the reason ? And what is the sollution ?

Transmission errors, that is normal. Compare with the overall input counter, if it's a small fraction like 0.1% or less, you have nothing to worry about.

Hope this helps, please rate post if itd does!

I would not say by looking at the outputs to ignore it.

This would be very messy if the errors are on a any link.

The output provided would not help to provide any answer at this point.

When there are such kinds fo erros its always important to check the time when they have occured.

Last input never, output never, output hang never

Last clearing of "show interface" counters never

The above output would show u the time in hr since these erros are been occured. If its in days then u can ignore it.

best way to check out would be to clear the counteres and check if they are increasing.

there are diffrent ways to troubleshoot these erros for serial and ethernet links
