The information you provided is very limited. But still I will say you can use Fast Ethernet interface if you have purchased a Ethernet connection.

If you want further assistance please provide us extra information.

Thanks for the reply.

We have an MPLS VPN connectivity from service provider who is giving us ethernet handoff at our premises. My query is If I am using CISCO 2811 series router wit the following config

2811 w/ AC PWR,2FE,4HWICs,2PVDMs,1NME,2AIMS,IP BASE,64F/256D

Can we use the 2 FE port for connecting this MPLS VPN connection.

Bronze

Hi Manohar,

No need. You can use 2 FE ports available on your router at present.

See the following URL...

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps5854/product_data_sheet0900aecd80581fe6_ps5855_Products_Data_Sheet.html

"The new HWICs provide additional Layer 3 routed ports with features equivalent to those on the motherboard of the integrated services routers. "
