WCCP Direction IN and OUT

Hi, I am confused with WCCP direction. I have L3 switch. Content device is attached on E0/0 & desktops are connected on other interfaces, like e0/2, e0/3. Please help me about commmand "IP WCCP Web Redirect OUT/IN". IN direction will on E0/0 where Content device is connected or any other logic ?

Re: WCCP Direction IN and OUT

Since the redirection is local on the switch itself you should need the following commands

ip wccp web-cache (enable web-caching)

under the e0/0 interface you will need the following command

ip wccp web-cache redirect in

If the content device was external (across the MPLS, ect) than you would redirect outbound. Hope this helps

Re: WCCP Direction IN and OUT

no, that should be all you need. And you are just wanting to use this for web caching correct? Because we use it for port-redirection for Riverbed traffic to optimize..
