What username and password is required on switches so you can browse to them via http?

I thought it was adding a privilege 15 level username, but that doesn't work.

hi phil,

First you need to enable ur switch for using http server

then by using the enable password u set on the switch u can access the switch via http

No need of username to access the switch via http only by entering password is enough to login into the switch.

If you have local usernames configured on the switch, then you need to configure the following command which will prompt for username & password

username admin privilege 15 secret

ip http authentication local
