Hello, I am in the process of replacing my telco provided ADSL PPPoA modem/router for a Cisco unit. What I need is the following is:
ADSL PPPoA modem/router function,
Mac based ACL & DHCP.
It's main purpose is to provide internet access, DHCP & Mac Based ACL for approximately 100-200 students. Wireless access is provided by 5 linksys AP's & 1 Linksys PoE switch.
Thanks.

You can use an 1800 series router with the adsl wic..

What do you think of the Cisco 877?

Yeah that will definitely work. I guess it really depends on your preference, but either or will work fine.

I would say a 1801 has a bit of more oomph that can be very useful when you need like additional features like throttling on certain network activity - a regular occurrence in many educational sites.
