what does the EIGRP router-id use for?

Hi,

From what i can remember is that the EIGRP router ID is mainly used to identify the originating router for external routes (in cases of redistribution). You must take care of this because if an external route is received with the local router ID, the route is discarded, please check the following link:

Can you match the router-id with match ip route-source in a route-map? If so, that looks incredibly useful for filtering routes when you have redundant border routers into EIGRP, to stop route feedback.

(Too tired to lab it at the moment, but I shall do next time I get a chance.)
