what interface is best to get 12mbsps on ISR 3825

need 12mbps on WAN. Would it be best to do 12 PRI's and do MLPPP to remote 18 sites or can I have NM-1A-T3/E3 module to support MLPPP to these remote site that may have 1 or 2 PRI's off a VWIC2-MFT module? THXS for your quick responses

Hello Michael,

the T3 module is better from an economic point of view.

However, usually Frame Relay is used for this.

if you have 18 remote sites and you plan to develop 12 PRI.

With FR the central site can have 18 DLCI to reach the remote sites.

The access link to FR service can be a T3 on the central site T1 on the remote sites.

Using some form of bundling over 12 T1 causes more work for the router to manage with fragments and so on.

you cannot use MLPPP to concentrate: with MLPPP that is point to point in nature you need to have on the central site the same number of T1 links that you have in all the remote sites together.

So if 1.5 links average to 18 sites you would need 27 T1 links.

A FR service if available in your region is better.

Hope to help
