I need to know what is the signification of the field "BER valid sec" in a CISCO837 or CISCO 827, when you do a "show dsl int atm 0"?

Is it normal if this counter increase continually at each second?

Thanks!

Hi,

I would say that is a good thing. A valid second is one second of data with errors below the threshold required to make it invalid. It should be incrementing by 1 every second.

I would be worried if the 'BER Invalid sec' counter was increasing, though.

Hope that helps - pls rate the post if it does.
