What SDSL router? 878 or 1803?

We are putting in a remote office for 20-40 users it will be having an SDSL line, which router would be best? We don't need wireless and I noticed the 1803 has this, is there a version without wireless that is cheaper?

Hi

Cisco 1803 does supports G.SHDSL port for more info on the same do find this link ..

One G.SHDSL port on Cisco 1803 supports either 2-wire mode or 4-wire mode. The Cisco 1803 supports the same standards as the Cisco G.SHDSL WIC and is based on ITU Recommendation G.991.2 (accepted worldwide).

Also as you have quoted Cisco 878 also supports G.SHDSL port but it comes with wireless support in it.

I would suggest to go for Cisco 1803 in the ISR model but still Cisco 878 cant be overlooked.

The SDSL router will be used sor a VPN to our HQ for 20-40 people, a supplier said the 878 might not handle the added encryption as good as the 1803, is this correct?

Hi

If you are eyeing out for VPN then better settle down with Cisco 1803 ISR series router.
