Which devices can handle a WAN link over private copper pair (no clock signal provided by Telco)
Which small business Cisco devices would I need to create a WAN link from point to point over a private copper pair (or 2 pairs if required). The Telco is providing the point to point copper link which will not be connecting to there equipment so will have no IP addressing or clock signal. Will I need to use a device with a serial interface or do some of the RJ45 type units have DCE/DTE capability? The main office will have two WAN links to two remote offices which are both around 3.5km (cable lenght) away. I looking at the 880 series but I'm unsure if these units can perform the required task.
