why does neighbor (OSPF) in IOS 12.4(17) automatically disapear ???

We have a 3845 router with a C3845-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M 12.4(17) IOS.

For some reason, I need to change OSPF network type from broadcast to nonboradcast on a GigaEthernet port, and I put the following commands under GigaEthernet0/0 interface.

ip ospf network non-broadcast

ip ospf hello-interval 10

ip ospf priority 0

and also put "neighbor <neighbour ip add>" under OSPF process configuration.

But when I do "show running-config", the "neighbor <neighbour ip add>" command is disappeared from the router's configuration magically, even I reboot the 3845 router, still no way to let it appear, but anyways, the OSPF adjency with this neighbour can be successfully established.

Is there somebody can give me some idea ?

Re: why does neighbor (OSPF) in IOS 12.4(17) automatically disap

what are you trying to achieve by issuing the neighbor command under the ospf proccess?

OSPF descovers neighbors from the hellos it send out from the interfaces it has been configured to run. Neighbor configuration is not needed as you do in case of BGP or sometimes in RIP

To check the adjacency, issue the command sh ip ospf neighbors
