WIC-1T HDSL compatibility

hi all,

i have purchased one 1841 cisco router and WIC-1T card V.35 cable for a point to point leased line.

but now the service provider is saying thers is no line available for this.

and they are ready to give HDSL for this point to point purpose will this WIC-1T work with HDSL.

all the posts will be appreciated with rating.

you bought the right wic for a serial leased line but what the service provider is offering you is a broadband line instead. This should be much cheaper than the leased line but you will need to purchase a DSL WIC for your router. I've only used ADSL and g.SHDSL and the wics needed for that are

WIC-1ADSL

WIC-1SHDSL (for two wire)

WIC1-SHDSL-V2 (2 - 4 wire)

In most cases no you will need one of the dsl cards in the above post. Now the real answer will depend on the provider. Lately I have had providers in some countries delivering the local loop part of a international point to point on DSL technology. They place some kind of "modem" in and deliver v.35 to me. They even offer g.703 interface.

Most providers can tell you exactly which cisco card will attach to their circuit so best bet it to ask them.
