Hi,
Would a serial WIC currently installed in 1720 router be compatible with a 2620?

Hi Mac ,
can you tell me what type card (serial) is in 1720 router. You can see model using sh diag in 1720 router.
If it is 1-Port DSU/CSU T1 , then it supports in 2600 series routers.
Thanks,
satish

Hi,
You have WIC-IT installed on your router. It will be supported on 2600 router. One thing you have to check if 2600's WIC slots are already full. If the slots are full then you might have to buy another network module to fit in this WIC card. 2600 routers are already EOS and EOL.

Hi John,
The serial Wics are generally supported across the platforms but amy sometime require an IOS upgrade to support them.
See the following link to check whether the modules are supported on your platform
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/modules/ps3129/prod_module_series_home.html
HTH, rate if it does

The only wic compatibility issue that I am currently aware of is you can not install a Version 1 WIC on the 3800 Series router. The 3800 Series require a Version 2
