Hi All,
I need to apply a QoS policy-map outgoing on a frame-relay subinterface on a Cisco 3845 router.
I can either do this via a frame-relay map class and set the service-policy command within the frame-relay map-class or I can apply the policy map to the frame-relay subinterface directly using the service-policy output command.
My question is, which method is better or doesn't it matter?
Thanks
Regards

Hi,
No, since you are not using FRTS (you are not shaping), then go ahead and configure the service-policy under the sub-interface, no meaning for configuring it under the FRTS then.

Hi,
Applying the service-policy under the FRTS is recommended because in this manner the queing is done to the shaped traffic while being shaped rather than beeing FIFO ,but unfortunately i have a bad history of it not working unless configured under the subinterface.
HTH, please do rate all helpful replies,

Hi There,
Thanks for the response but I am not shaping any traffic.
So does it matter how I apply this then?
