WS-C3550-24-PWR - NOT ABLE TO CONNECTE 3RD PARTY AP.

Dear Team,

WS-C3550-24-PWR, the ports are flapping with the below error when a third party acces point (ARUBA 105 ACEES POINT ) is connected to the POE. It has been observed all the Cisco AP are working fine with the switch.

The third party acces point (ARUBA 105 ACEES POINT ) is working with diffrent 2960 Cisco swithes and the problem is observed only in WS-C3550-24-PWR.

%ILPOWER-3-CONTROLLER_PORT_ERR: Controller port error, Interface Fa0/21: Power given, but link is not up.

Q. Does the Cisco Catalyst 3550-24 PWR Switch support the 802.3af inline power standard?
A. No, this switch supports Cisco Pre-Standard Power over Ethernet. The  Catalyst 3750 Series and Catalyst 3560 Series support the Cisco  Pre-Standard Power over Ethernet and IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet.

Q. Does the Cisco Catalyst 2960 Series support standards-based Power over Ethernet?
A. Yes. The Cisco Catalyst 2960 Series supports IEEE 802.3af, and it  provides investment protection for the installed base of Cisco IP phones  and Cisco Aironet wireless LAN access points by also supporting the  Cisco pre-standard Power over Ethernet (inline power).
Q. Can the Cisco Catalyst 2960 Series provide power to IEEE 802.3af and Cisco pre-standard Power over Ethernet simultaneously?
A. Yes. It automatically detects the end point to provide the appropriate power without any user intervention.
