x25 QLLC and IBM Host

Hi all,

we are trying to configure a scenario in which an IBM Host starts a call over X25 cloud to 3 different X25 clients. The mainframe is attache to a 3745 router via Osa an fast Ethernet (0/0). Serial 2/6 on router is attacehed to X25.

Host---osa--FE---Router---Serial2/6--X25---3 different x24 clients with 3 differents X25 addresses.

We have tested the following configurations for the router:

Conf 1

interface Serial2/6

description Prueba para X25 QLLC con

no ip address

encapsulation x25 ietf

no ip mroute-cache

x25 address 007599801

x25 alias .*

x25 ltc 2

x25 htc 6

x25 facility windowsize 7 7

x25 facility packetsize 128 128

x25 map qllc 4000.0090.9910 12003022

x25 map qllc 4000.0090.9911 12004212

x25 map qllc 4000.0090.9909 12005211

no cdp enable

qllc accept-all-calls

qllc dlsw vmacaddr 4000.0090.9909 3

Clients x25 addresses are 12005211, 12004212 and 12003022 and macs 4000.0090.99xx are mac addr where hsot PU's point to inicatiate the call.

In this conf qe can only start an x25 conversation from host at a time.

Conf 2

interface Serial2/6

description Prueba para X25 QLLC con BOLSA XN024

no ip address

encapsulation x25 ietf

no ip mroute-cache

shutdown

x25 address 007599801

x25 alias .*

x25 ltc 2

x25 htc 6

x25 facility windowsize 7 7

x25 facility packetsize 128 128

x25 map qllc 1200

no cdp enable

qllc accept-all-calls

qllc dlsw subaddress 5211 vmacaddr 4000.0090.9909 partner 4000.000c0.8a

qllc dlsw subaddress 3022 vmacaddr 4000.0090.9910 partner 4000.000c0.8a

qllc dlsw subaddress 4211 vmacaddr 4000.0090.9910 partner 4000.000c0.8a

end

This conf was checked form doc DLSW+ Design and Implementation Guide (Chapter 2 figure 2-10).

This conf 2 does not work. It seems x25 connection is restarted but nothing else. No Data tranfer.

Dlsw conf has been prior tested and it is working.

Coul you please help?

Re: x25 QLLC and IBM Host

If QLLC is configured, the router answers an X.25 QLLC call with an X.25 CALL CONNECTED message. The router then sends a test frame, or explorer, to the LAN device to initiate the LAN connection. If the LAN partner can be located, the LAN partner sends an explorer response with a RIF on how to locate it.

Re: x25 QLLC and IBM Host

At the end we have succeded based on configuration n#1.

TRicky are comtiguous vmacs on router (number ov vmacs also = pool size), canonical to non-canonical transform, and x25 remote addresses.
