Michael Sullenberger bio
Mike Sullenberger is a Distiguished Support Engineer (DSE) at Cisco, where he has been for more than 14 years. His technical expertise is in the areas of TCP/IP, IPsec VPNs, routing protocols, NAT, and HSRP. He is the principal architect of the Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN) solution, winner of the 2004 Cisco Pioneer Award, and he continues to work on DMVPN network designs, troubleshooting, and new DMVPN features. In all of these areas his focus is to relate knowledge of how network and application protocols work at the packet level to the design and functioning of the network. He is a regular speaker at Cisco Live about site-to-site IPsec and DMVPN networks. In more than 19 years of working in TCP/IP networking, he has also worked at TGV and at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. He holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from Harvey Mudd College as well as a CCIE certification (# 2902) in Routing & Switching. He also has 6 patents, 3 in the area of Network Address Translation (NAT) and 3 in the area of Virtual Private Networks (IPsec VPN/DMVPN).
