Windows Update not working

We have an S160 and our users require authentication to access the web. One we try to do a manual windows update on a pc, we get prompted for credentials. After being prompted several times for credentials the windows update fails stating the proxy server is preventing access to Windows Update.

Any ideas what is happening and how we can get around this? It appears Windows Update does not like requiring authentication.

You can avoid authentication by creating identity based on 'User Agent' or 'Custom URL category' for Windows Update client program.
Then by creating Access Policy based on that newly created identity, exempting from authentication and placing that policy before any other existing policy.
