Factory Default WAE-502-K9 from router.

Is there any way to factory default a WAE-502-K9 WAAS module which is installed in a router remotely from the routers CLI?

I need to factory reset the module or wipe the config remotely from the router and I can't access the WAE-502-K9 module.

Hi,

From the host router CLI, use the following commands to get access to the module.

1. enable

2. configure terminal

3. interface integrated-service-engine slot/0

Hi,

I'd recommend the following approach:

  1. Try, if you can still access the module from the router itself as described here:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas/v403/module/configuration/guide/wsnmecfg.html#wp39905
  2. If this doesn't work, try to reload the module using the command service-module integrated-Service-Engine slot/0 reload.
  3. Ensure, that the NME interfaces are configured correctly, as described here:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas/v403/module/configuration/guide/wsnmecfg.html#wp39773
  4. If neither of the above works try to recover the system software as documented here:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas/v441/configuration/guide/maint.html#wp1134139

Once you have access to the module you can restore it to factory default using the restore factory-default [preserve basic-config] command.

Regards,

Michael
