Good morning all.

We have a depolyement scénario, and here is  the topology :

we have many branchs users that tries to access servers on a data center.  but the problème is,  branch  and Data center  WAE's are not registred in the same CM's.

CM- 2 is not the replication of CM-1.  Actually, they don't belong  to the same management groupe.

now with a topology like that , could the optimisation be done for a flow going out of the branche into the data center. If yes How ??

Is there a possibility to be a communication betwwen CM-1 and CM-2 ??

I know that auto-discovery  is a feater used by WAE to detect WAE peers.  but in the case of CM's how it could be donne ?

Hi Fawzi,

What will you gain from this ?

Basically the Central manager is not needed for optimization to take place !    ... but it is strongly advisable to have one !

The optimization will take place anyway, you will see in the topology view, that optimization peers (from the other domain) are only known by their MAC address and not their name.

However as the peers negiotiate their optimization capabilities in each session setup (e.g. from client to server), they will only pick their common optimization policies - e.g. if datacenter WAAS domain policies specifies that a given application should run with TFO, DRE and LZ and the "branch" domain policies specifies "pass-through" the negotiated policy will be "pass-through".

So it would be preferable to use the same policies in both "domains".

Off course you will have two points of management, but if thats a requirement for some reason, so be it.

But it would NOT hinder the optimization to take place !
