7926G works over 802.11g but not 802.11a

                   We have a 1600 AP and can regsiter phones fine over a 802.11g. But when using the 802.11a it never gets connected and the phones signal light is blinking with yellow flag off/on. Other laptops though connect to the AP on 802.11a. What could be the problem? and /or where to start?

Is the AP1600 in unified or autonomous mode?

802.11d (world mode) is required when using 5 GHz (802.11a) as only a single model for 7926G is offered to all around the world.

For 2.4 GHz, channels 1-11 can be scanned as those channels are common around the world.

802.11d  is enabled by default for a unified AP when registered to a Cisco WLC,  but it is not enabled by default for an autonomous AP.

So if using autonomous AP, ensure you enable the country code.

please make sure you have checked all the data rates in the AP for 802.11a 5GHz band and aslo selected non-overlaping channel at you AP.
