Hello,
I have problems with connecting my 7920 wireless ip phone and my laptop via the connection utility tool.
I did some testing again and i could install the USB driver correctly
appearantly.
What i see is that it creates a seperate network icon in my system tray which
says "limited or no connectivity" and when you look at the ip address
it's not the correct one of the phone.Somewhere there is a connection
problem.
If i try to connect to the phone,it doenn't succeed.
I guess there's no connectivity at all. (although the speed is
set to 10Mbps)
With SP1 it still worked fine.
We are using config tool version 2.0 with firmware version 9720.4.0-02-00
Just one more thing,i saw that he does recognize the MAC address of the
phone. So there must be some sort of negotiation.
enabled my wireless phone now and tried to connect myself.I got the login
screen, entered my password and saw that he was trying to connect to the phone.
I was in online mode for some seconds and then i got the error "no connection with phone, connection is closed"
I saw now that i get the logon screen in the config utility for the period that
the little icon in my system tray is searching for a network address (which he
never receives).I arrive in online mode.At the point the connection drops
("no connection or limited connection"),lose connectivity to my phone
and fall into off-line mode
btw,all windows FW activities are disabled + statefull firewall in VPN client.
anyone who has an idea?

So the Config Utility has limited DHCP server functionality. The 7920's USB IP is always 192.168.1.1 /24. Seems you have at least IP connectivity as you are getting the login screen. PC should get 192.168.1.2 more than likely. Do you get an error after logging in? After logging in the application will do a TFTP get for the phone's current configuration. Need to ensure there are no firewall apps enabled blocking UDP port 69.

Hi Michael,
Thanks for your response.
Indeed,my pc got the ip address 192.168.1.2.
I get the error after log in,yes. The TFTP transfer is successfull,so i see the config but the connection brakes up suddenly after 20 seconds or so...but it has been longer already also...
i get the error 305: "no response from phone;connection is closed".
What do you think? fault in the driver or so?

Could try that. If you have another 7920 or USB cable, try that as well.

I have solved the problem.
Appearantly, the Cisco VPN client is not full disabled when you put it on "disable".The statefull firewall function is still active.
You have to modify the vpnclient.ini file in order to fully disable it.
Then the connection is ok again.
Anyway,thanks for the response.
Kind regards,
Kurt

Yes is a common issue. Once you set to disable should stay there even after reboot.

Hi Michael,
Although it doesn't work with me but yes with my collegue.
I added statefulfirewall=0,rebooted but result is the same.
Weird...
So in fact, the problem is not solved,i think.
My TAC case was almost closed,i will discuss a little bit further with Cisco i think...
Kind regards,
Kurt
