Has anyone managed to connect an IP Phone directly into the ethernet port of a AP1231 using a cross-over cable. We want to deploy single phones in remote locations over wireless without deploying a switch. Although the phone and the AP has its own power cube, when the two are connected together, the IP phone will not power up as if the inline power is causing a problem. We cannot find any commands to disable the inline power monitoring.

One thing you could try is turning of CDP on the AP. CDP is part of the process for the connecting device to find out about power.
