Difference between different roles of APs

Hi

I am Kinda curious to study in detail the different station roles of the APs and the difference between them. Does anybody know where I can find this information?

That was great information, though I had some querries if you could help me with that.

How is a Root AP different from a Root bridge. Is it that a Root bridge can take part in a Spanning tree topology where as in a Root AP the STP is disaled? I sthis the only difference? In what situations do we need to configure an AP as a rootbridge and not as a Root AP?
