DSCP range = 0 to 255 ???

In,

WCS-Linux-Win-4.0.87.0-ReleaseNotes.pdf

under,

Resolved Caveats

"CSCse52851?The valid range for the DSCP Field is 0 to 255. If you enter a value outside of that

range, an error warns you of the range."

- when I went to IP school DSCP was 6 bits so had range 0 - 63.

What gives?

When selecting and modifying Access Control Lists, you can set the value for DSCP to any without receiving an error response.Refer http://cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6305/prod_release_note09186a00806b0811.html for more information.
