How to improve poor Wireless Performance?

In our Environment, there a 2504 WLC with 10 LAPs( Several 2602, several 1242), there are FLEXConnect Group with local switch and Local Authentication, but there are some clients connected to WiFi with poor wireless performance, their ping value is more 100ms, specially the audio quality is ver bad when there are Lync calls, Whehter you may give some suggestions?

Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA/WPA2)............. Enabled

WPA (SSN IE)............................... Enabled

WPA2 (RSN IE).............................. Enabled

Choose either WPA or WPA2.  Do not enable both.

What are the benefit if we disable them?

Some OS do not like to choose.

Just I found I can't test the band 5G, because a lot of laptops not support it! and our 1242AP are without 5G antenna.

For QoS Platinum, how to configure it?

Which one Maximun Priority will select from (Voice, Video, Background, Besteffort)?

Playing with QoS will probably not fix anything.  You've got issues with your wireless propagation.

There's a chance the APs are too far away from your clients or you have co-channel interferrence happening.

Yes, now I still have the issue with wireless propagation.

I think they both exist (too far and interferrence), Now I do not know how to optimize our wireless network! a lot of audio run on the wireless, users will get bad audio.

Just I checked our WLC, there are below parameters seems to optimize the wireless signal, if the paremeter may optimize the wireless, whether you may have the best practices?

Parameters:

1. RRM

2. DCA (Dynamic Channel Assignment)

3. TPC (have coverage and interferrence optimization)

4. Coverage

5. Client Roam

6. EDCA (Enhanced Distributed Channel Access)

7. Data Rate

As with any real time applications, voice doesn't bode well with poor wireless signal, especially more than -67dBm. As Leo suggested get a wireless survey done. Once you'be sorted the RF environment, you can deal with packet prioritization using Policy based APS on your laptops through Group Policy.

This means that you are not transmitting 5.0 Ghz.  This means that your office is using exclusively 2.4 Ghz.  There's a big possibility that you have co-channel interferrence from OTHER WIRELESS sources.

Organize to get SOMEONE to do wireless site survey.  Wireless site survey will determine if you need more APs and whether or not 2.4 Ghz is adequate for your network.  Wireless site survey will also identify other SSID in the vicinity operating in the same channel as you are.

Now our wireless network link speed is high and stable, but the audio quality still have the jitter, and it is 99m for average value of ping to gateway. and the band is only set to 2.4GHz.

Lync can work with signal strength up to -70, but that should be your maximum. What gateway are you getting high ping values, that for wireless devices? What is jitter rate reported by your Lync Monitoring Server report for a call from a wireless client?

You definitely have a very bad network. If you hover your cursor over the items in Red, you will get a suggested cause of such high figures.

Why can't you get 5GHz antennas for your AP and then attempt the Lync call again as your laptop will definitely connect using 5ghz. In the meantime, could you ping your AP IP address with 1300 bytes and check the average and max response.

Ping x.x.x.x -l 1300 -n 500.
