Gurus,
We have a wireless solution provided in a hotel for almost 800 APs with c6500 + WISMs.
On each floor the AP are in the lobby and not in the rooms, the wireless data is fine but IP phones are disconnecting or the voices are choppy.Initially the power drawn by APs in a single switch was 10W then we had to statically put 15W then there was some signal boost still was intermittent.
to rectify the issue do we need to put APs per room or do we have a workaround for this issue?
its huge business issue from wireless perspective, sincerely need any advice.
awaiting optimistically
Shukla.

What model phones are you using and what firmware? Was the hotel surveyed for voice?

You have to do a site survey. If the signal is good everywhere that you need coverage (RSSI at least 20db) or your voice problems occur everywhere, then placing more APs won't help at all. In this case you have to look for other reasons that can cause voice corruption.
If RSSI falls below 20 in the areas that you are facing problems, then you need to do a site survey to find your coverage holes and install more APs.
In either case, in order to get help from the forum you need to supply more details about the installation and the exact problem.

Gurus,
Appreciate your inputs, we have some physicall issues that we are checking on and hope to relocate the APs after a survey.
Will get back in case im really stuck ..:-)
