I am planning a 802.11g wireless network with computers with softphone application. In this topology is it possible to overcome the design rule for G.729 calls is not to exceed eight concurrent VoIP calls per AP?
The number of concurrent calls that can be handled by a device depends on maximum forwarding rate, currently 802.11b have 1000pps. Hence the restriction of 8 concurrent calls. The maximum forwarding rate should be certainly higher in 802.11g.
