I am looking for any info on available or coming products that offer wireless phone/radio voice capability over 802.11b or other wireless networks. Basically a modern and cost effective alternative for an in-house radio network based on the LAN infrastructure. I just started checking into this so please clue me in.
As you might have seen in a recent Symbol press release(http://www.symbol.com/news/pressreleases/press_releases_miscpr_cisco.html) the NetVision DS Phone is the first 802.11b wireless mobile device ever to receive AVVID verification for resale by Cisco resellers, thus expanding the breadth of product and service offerings for Cisco AVVID IP Telelphony Specialists.
We are currently installing a network with the SpectraLink IP wireless phones over an 802.11b network. You can go to www.spectralink.com for info on their products or feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We actually using two Cisco AP350s, one root the other a repeater to connect to a small rollabout cart that has a PC with a wireless NIC, an 18" LCD monitor and a Polycom Viavideo video conference unit. We use this on a floor with ten conference rooms to supplement the two video conference rooms thats always in use. Works pretty good.
As the Symbol Product Manager for NetVision 802.11b phones for Cisco CallManager environments, I would be happy to field any product questions. I don't frequent this forum, but if I don't answer promptly, please feel free to email your questions to me at:
