WMM and WPA

We are running WPAv2 for our CE Symbol handhelds (MC9060). We also run a Spectralink VoIP system at our retail stores. We disabled WMM over the weekend per a Spectralink recommendation and found immediately afterwards our WPA handhelds could not authenticate. Can anyone point me in the direction of an explanation. Another side not we only seemed to see this on our IOSUpdgraded AP's.

Create separate VLANs instead of using migration mode (one VLAN for Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) only, and another VLAN without WPA). For more information on the wireless client card, refer to Aironet A/B/G Wireless PCI Adapter. Note: With Funk client, the client does not appear as authenticated under WPA, yet show dot11 association on the AP shows the client as successfully authenticated
