I was wandering if you already asked yourself about the nature of the wmm(802.11e) technique from the performance point of view and especially its relation to qos policing/shaping. The wmm normally is giving access with priority to voice /video applications resulting in more latency more loss for best effort and background access categories. Assuming a scenario where you are not having any static call setup limitations ( via CAC ) should we consider any shaping/policing that would limit the bandwidth of voice category or guarantee the bandwidth to best effort of background flows. Hi , thank you for your feedback and it looks like in certain deployment ( for example if the client requires having voice and data allowed on the same ssid ) we should look into shaping to assure the coexistence of both services.
