Introduction

Pict1.jpgCisco Wireless LAN Controllers work in conjunction with Cisco lightweight access points and the Cisco Wireless Control System (WCS) to provide system wide wireless LAN functions. As components of the Cisco Unified Wireless Network, Cisco 2100 Series Wireless LAN Controllers present network administrators with the visibility and control necessary to effectively and securely manage business-class WLANs and mobility services, such as voice, guest access, and location services.

The Cisco 2106 Wireless LAN Controller works in conjunction with Cisco lightweight access points and the Cisco Wireless Control System (WCS) to provide system wide wireless LAN functions. As a component of the Cisco Unified Wireless Network, the Cisco 2106 Wireless LAN Controller gives network administrators the visibility and control necessary to effectively and securely manage business-class WLANs.

The Cisco 2106 Wireless LAN Controller provides:

  • A cost-effective solution for enterprise branch deployments and small and medium-sized business environments
  • Business-class RF security and WLAN security policy monitoring
  • Simplified network deployment, operations, and management to help reduce overall operational expenses

These controllers are part of a Payment Card Industry (PCI) certified architecture, and are well suited for retail customers who deploy transactional data applications such as scanners and kiosks. With performance up to 100 Mbps, the Cisco 2100 Series Wireless LAN Controllers also enable small and medium branch offices to deploy collaboration applications such as guest access and mobile voice.

While Cisco 2100 Series Wireless LAN Controllers support transaction-oriented wireless environments such as handheld scanners in retail, the Cisco 5500 Series Wireless Controllers are recommended for high-data-rate and multicast-intensive applications such as large data files, video, push-to-talk.

Very good document, thanks..

One question, Can we recover the password for Cisco WLC 2106.. ??

If factory default is the only option then can , can we take the backup of the WLC with FTP and then restore to factory default and then restore it back after resetting of the password..

Best Regards
