How to assign an IP address to a Wireless Bridge

Resolution

The default IP address for the wireless bridge is 10.0.0.1. To assign a static IP address to a wireless bridge, refer to these documents:

• For Cisco IOS  -based bridges, refer to the Obtaining and Assigning an IP Address section of Configuring the Bridge for the First Time. Also, refer to the Connecting to the Bridge Locally section of this document.  
  

• For VxWorks-based bridges, refer to the Entering Basic Settings section of Configuring the Radio and Basic Settings. 

Note: When connecting the PC to the bridge or reconnecting the PC to the wired LAN, it may be necessary to release and renew the IP address on the PC. On most PCs, a release and renew can be performed through a PC reboot. To do this, the ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew commands can be issued in a Command Prompt window. For detailed instructions, consult the PC operating instructions.
