Q: Can I get access to this tool?

Q: Is it only windows based or can i use it on my mac?

A: It is only windows, if you are using mac you can use Wireless Config Analyzer Express

Q: Can we export this table to Excel or we need to copy paste to Excel?

A: You can export this as CSV and then open CSV with Excel 

Q: Do the WLCCA tool (Windows) and Wireless Config Analyzer Express (Cloud) have the same feature set?

A: They have different feature sets WCA expresss provides summary of the info and not have all checks available in WLCCA

 

Q: When loading this software does it call back home? Like is it trying to talk back to something from Cisco? We have SSL interception at my job and I've had issues loading this software.

A: This is an offline tool no need to have any connectivity

 

Q: You have to uninstall any previous versions of this software before loading new versions?

A: No need to remove previous versions

Q: Are these graphs available only oflline after run WLC tool?

A: Yes, only available when running WLCCA

 

Q: Will we hear something about the Cloud-Based WLCCA too?

A: Yes, we covered WLCA express that is cloud-based

 

Q: Could the WLCCA tool by any way see if a client frequently have made a lot of roaming between different access-points?

A: No, there is no detail client info in show run-config so we cannot do this check

 

Q: Does the windows version do the log summerization?

A: Windows version have also a summary of the network and best practices

Q: If I use putty to get the sh run-config, where do I disable the config paging as suggested or is the config paging disabled on the WLC?

A: Config paging disable needs to be configured in WLC

A: There is no way to export the info at this moment

A: From WLC CLI show boot From GUI in Monitor "Software Version"

A: No, WLCCA will only work on Windows for MacOS you can use WCA Express

Q: I have 3 AP's within 10 meters area but i have issue in connectivity to an AP. what may be cause for this issue?

A: There could be different reasons for clients not been able to connect to AP, this needs to be troubleshooted to identify what could be the root cause

Q: Are there any DFS checks built into the tool? Can it visualise/summarise DFS radar detection?

A: DFS monitoring is added on WLC Express warning is showed if more than 5 DFS occurs per day per AP. WLCCA doesn’t have any check for DFS.

 

Q: Is there anything that checks anchor WLC config best practices?

A:  Yes, WLCCA shows best practices.

 

Q: We have dedicated AP's for monitoring, but I still see these recommendations.. anyways to disable?

A: WLCA Express only show data for client servicing APs, WLCCA shows data for all AP modes, no way to disable it.

 

Q: What's the hardware requirement for WLCCA?

A:  No hardware requirement, just memory.

 

Q: I am assuming that APs with External antennas should have the antenna gain manually set on all the external APs?

A: Yes, gain should be configured to ensure that txpower is not exceed.

 

Q: What is your recomendation to use wlcca for big deployment?

A: WLCCA will help to keep track of the health of the network and quickly identify low health arears and overall health and best practices.

 

Q: Is there plans to integrate the config analyzer express into Cisco Prime Infrastructure?

A: Some of the features are integrated into PI. But no plans to integrate tool with PI.

 

Q: Can I compare WLC configs not in the same RF-Group (e.g. find settings that are not how we generally configure it)?

A: Yes, you can compare configs from different WLCs

 

Q: Any plans to incorporate this into the wlc main page? Would be nice to roll wireless debug anaylzer, WCAE, and WLCCA into a possible offline toolset

A: Some of the features will be incorporate in the future wireless products.

Q: Is it possibe to filter out AP from only one branch if we have a lot of branches in the same WLC?

A: You can filter by ap-group or flexgroup.

 

Q: How many controllers can be compared at the same time?

A: There is no limit on number of controllers.

 

Q: on the APs Nearby Info pane, would you explain "compensated heard power"?

A: Heard power – antenna gain.

  

Q: Are you planning to integrate the features of this tool directly on the WLC GUI? 

A: Yes, there are some plans to integrate some of this features in future wireless products. Some features are already in PI and Assurance.
